Given their quiet outward calm, INTJs may sometimes surprise their colleagues by the firmness of their opinions, which will be based on a detailed, logical analysis of all the relevant information. While others may at times see them as being a little shy, distant or even somewhat aloof, this is to misunderstand their private, inner-directed nature and tendency to rely on cool, abstract logic.

Dealing with INTJ:
1) Try not to be repetitive. It annoys them.

Is there any correlation between keirsey temperament and enneagram?
Most INTJs test as type 5, some INTJs do test as other enneagram types. Is there any correlation between MBTIs and birth order? No real data can be quoted on this. The INTJ-Open list seems to have a predominance of firstborns and only children.

Relationship Issues:
Wishing to control nature, the INTJ "scientist" probably has more difficulty than all other types in making up his or her mind in mate selection. Even mate selection must be done in a scientific way. It may well be that the narratives, plays, and films impugning the "rational and objective" approach to mating have as their target our thorough-going scientist INTJ. Nevertheless, when young, the INTJ is attracted to the free-wheeling, spontaneous, fun-loving "entertainer" ESFP. But the INTJ requires that mating meet certain criteria, else it is not undertaken. [This type of mating (INTJ+ENFP), however, is so infrequent as to be a mere academic interest (the INTJ is a mere 1 percent of the population and, furthermore, rarely comes in contact with ESFP).] So the INTJ doesn't often go through with what is begun by natural attraction.
